Bulk - Permit Mailing

General Information on Postal Mailings

Bulk does not necessarily mean 3-4 weeks.  Just means packaged and permit.

It is more convenient and much less time consuming if the indicia is preprinted on the mailing. For Post cards it must be preprinted.

            There are 2 different indicia.

We have permits for:

Bulk - standard -3-4 weeks guaranteed…but usually with 1-2 weeks.

Bulk – First Class – Processed like a normal stamped mail

Bar Coding is extremely important as rates are very different.  Plus as we gravitate to everything barcoded there will be no choice.

Rates vary depending on the above criteria and Zip Codes matches and bar coding.

Rate categories are:

            5 digits match

            First 3 digits match

            Same postal office area

Mixed (usually the remaining not fitting into criteria above)

The rates are the same for Post Card Standard mail as the letter rates.

Please allow processing time both here at Hesston College and at the Hesston Post Office.

As far as the Downtown Hesston Post Office rules and Regulations about delivery I’m not certain and would require a specific question and phone call to them.  I’ve been recently told they do not handle permit mail on Saturday’s.
