CONNECTING YOUR COMPUTER, TABLET, OR SMARTPHONE:
HC_Secure is the best wireless network for computers, tablets, and smartphones. For other devices, see below for information about the HC_Devices WiFi network. If you have an HC ID, you can connect your device to HC_Secure. If you do not have an HC ID, you can connect to HC_Guest, though HC_Guest should be reserved for guests/visitors of the college and those needing to get online temporarily to access this site and other resources necessary to connect to HC_Secure.
For connecting to the HC_Secure wireless network, find your device below for specific instructions:

CONNECTING YOUR VIDEO GAME SYSTEMS, TVs AND INTERNET STREAMING DEVICES:
HC_Device is the wireless network especially designed for video game systems, smart TVs, and Bluray/Internet streaming devices. Upon attempting to connect to HC_Device, you will be prompted to enter in a password. The password for the HC_Device network is: hcgolarks
Normally, your device will successfully connect to HC_Device after the password is entered in. However, occasionally a device will fail to connect to this network--if this occurs, the IT department will need to know your device’s MAC address to allow it to connect. This string of numbers is unique to every internet-enabled device, and is often easily found in the ‘Settings’ or ‘About’ window in the device’s software. For more information on finding your device’s MAC address, as well as to contact the IT department with your device’s MAC address, please click here.
Please note: We currently do not support Chromecasts, Wi-Fi Printers, or Ethernet Routers on any Hesston College network.
CONNECTING TO THE DORM WIRED NETWORK:
Most gaming systems and some other types of devices (eg: AppleTV's) will automatically connect and get online when plugged in on the wired network in your dorm room. If you have a device that doesn't, please send an email to: email@example.com and be sure to include all your information, including your MAC Address and room number. See this page for instructions on how to obtain your device’s MAC address.
CONNECTING TO THE HESSTON COLLEGE NETWORK DRIVES:
M: (for access to Class folders) and H: (personal home drive) will connect automatically when you log into an HC PC in one of the campus labs.
To connect to those drives on your own computer, please submit a helpdesk ticket to arrange an appointment with the IT Helpdesk.
